A Moment with Fringe

Yes, I love Fringe. I love the flow and playfulness of it. I love that I can dress it up or dress it down. It's just makes me wanna twirl! This JustFab skirt is so perfect! It's vegan suede and it's a mini under the fringe midi. I mean, who doesn't love a 2 in 1?! The high waist is very flattering while still showing off my curves, which I'm very proud of. I'm sure I can find many ways to wear this skirt through Fall.

Simplemente, me hacen querer bailar!

Is it Fall yet?

The weather is finally started to get cooler in Texas, but I'm still able to bare my legs. I'm really digging this mix of sweet Parisian print with this quilted leather skirt I thrifted. The studded booties give the look an edge as well. Not much to say! I'll let my rockin' outfit do the talkin'. Have an awesome week!

The San Antonio Fashion Awards

Hi, my loves! I know it's been a while since my last post, I took a little break to help prepare the San Antonio Fashion Awards and a little break after. It has been an intense couple of weeks, but it well worth it. The Award Show was absolutely amazing! Style Lush TV hosted a huge celebration of the San Antonio Fashion Community with the most glamorous event the city has ever seen. I had the tremendous honor to present the award for the Blogger of Year. During the nomination process I was delightfully surprised to find out that I was the 5th most nominated blogger, but there were only 4 spots elegible for voting. So close, ha ha! Honestly, it was an honor to even be considered, given the fact that I only moved to San Antonio 3 years ago and started blogging seriously for only about a year. The nominees in this category have been doing it for a very long time, and I can learn so much from them! Maybe I'll be nominated next year, but for now I'm just really focused on the Community as a Style Contributor for SLTV.
I wore a Badgley Mishka gown from Rent the Runway. Don't miss the review I'll be posting later this week. My jewelry was from Rocksbox and the shoes were Vince Camuto. Head over to Style Lush TV to see all the winners and the beautiful venue that held the ceremony!

Massage Heights: My elevated spa experience

I was recently invited to try out Massage Heights for a spa experience and I must say it was amazing. Usually facials with extractions hurt me, but I had to question if anything was being extracted because I couldn't feel a thing! Vergie, Lead Skin Therapist at Massage Heights, has the hands of an angel. Of course, it helps to use amazing products like Dermalogica. Massage Heights is a Dermalogica exclusive spa, and carries the entire line for all skin types and needs.

First, she started with an aromatherapy treatment. I had the choice between relaxing, reviving, energizing and breathing. I chose Breathe because I was starting to get allergies and love eucalyptus. For my facial, she started with a precleansing oil. This serum is perfect for removing makeup and actually pulls the impurities from my skin, similar to the oil-pulling (oil swish in your mouth) concept. Then she used the special cleansing gel for a thorough cleanse with a Clarisonic brush. I'd never used a Clarisonic so it went in a for a pretty deep cleanse. Then, she used what she calls a mini vacuum that removes dead skin and any surfaced blackheads. Now for the blackheads, that's where it was pure magic! She used a pre-extraction serum that basically brings out all of the blackheads to the surface with the steam and all she did was lightly extract everything. I swear you can't even feel it. It doesn't leave any marks or scarring. I also had a chance to try out all the "elevations", which are the extras they have to offer. We did the Skin Enriching, Skin Refining, and Skin Purifying.
My skin was absolutely glowing when I left!
This Saturday, Oct. 17th, the Massage Heights at Leon Springs will be hosting an event. This location is the largest retreat in the  Nation, and they'll be hosting the launch party for the release of their latest product, Dermalogica Primer. The event is from 10 am to 4 pm and they'll offer free facials and makeup applications, great door prizes, and discounts. You don't wanna miss it!

I've recently realized the importance of taking care of my skin as I age. My mother and her sisters look half their age, but it's only because they moisturize, avoid the sun and, quite frankly, damn good genetics. I plan to be part of that legacy, so I should be diligent about it. I plan on getting regular facials and using products that really promote my skin's health. I went home with a pretty good supply of Dermalogica samples. Let's see how it goes!
